Location of Hevinghausen in Much

Hevinghausen is a district of the municipality Much in the Rhein-Sieg district . The village, locally called Hävvekossen , was first mentioned in a document in 1555.

location

Hevinghausen lies west of Much. Neighboring villages are candlesticks and Siefen in the north, Neuenhaus in the east, Hetzenholz in the south and Eigen in the west.

Residents

In 1901 the hamlet had 79 inhabitants. Householders were then Ackerer Jacob Berger, Schuster Heinrich Josef striker, Schneider Bernhard Gerhards, Ackerer Albert Höller, Ackerer Joh. Kemmerling jun., Ackerer Heinrich Josef Klein, Ackerer Joh. Krimmel, Ackerer Henry New, Ackerer Hermann Josef New and restaurateur Joh. Peter Stommel.

chapel

In 1895 a chapel was built in Hevinghausen to replace an old dilapidated chapel. But in 1976 this had to give way to road construction. The current Marienkapelle was inaugurated in 1978 and is looked after by a chapel association.
