Oberbruchhausen is a district of the municipality Much in the Rhein-Sieg district .

Oberbruchhausen lies on the slopes of the Bergisches Land west of Much. Neighboring towns are Niederbruchhausen in the south and Neuenhaus in the north.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1559. In 1820 Oberbruchhausen had 17 residents. In 1901 the hamlet had 37 inhabitants. Listed were the heads of households Maurer Wilhelm Frielingsdorf, Ackerer Albert Höller, seamstress Bertha Höller, herb producer Peter Josef Höller, Ackerer Peter Josef Eicherzhagen and peddlers Gerhard Siebertz.

village life

The once agricultural settlement has developed into a pure residential area.

The village community has planted around six thousand trees and bushes around the village, which have developed into large strips of hedges. These were wetlands created. For these measures, the village was awarded the Rhein-Sieg district's environmental protection prize in 2000 .
