Oberwahn is located in the Wahnbachtal on federal road 56 . Neighboring towns are Wellerscheid in the northeast, Altenhof in the east, Niederwahn in the southwest and Heinenbusch in the northwest.

history

In 1901 Oberwahn was a village with 88 inhabitants. The households Joh.Büth, Wilhelm Frings, August, Franz Peter, Joh.Martin, widow Joh.Peter and Justin Hess, Peter Josef Höhner, Joh.Peter Manz, Heinrich Josef, Joh.Peter and Peter Josef Schumacher, Peter Josef were recorded Summer houses, Josef Strunden, Peter Wieser and widow Heinrich Josef Wippermann. Except for the shoemaker Frings, everyone was in the village of Ackerer .
