Steinhaus is a district of the municipality of Much in the Rhein-Sieg district .

Steinhaus is located in the Wahnbachtal and on the road 189 . Neighboring towns are Hillesheim in the west and Herchenrath in the east.

history

The original stone house was a noble residence with a tower and moat. It was canceled in 1815.

In 1333 a knight Dictus vamme Steinhuis was mentioned. Proven owners of the castle were Dietrich von Hillesheim (1574), Freiherr von Dalwigh (1609), Werner Stael von Holstein (1660), Freiherr von Nagel (1790–1802) and finally Adolf Steeger.

In 1901 there was a house with 14 inhabitants. The Ackerer Peter Schürger families and Ackerin's widow Gustav Weber lived here.
