Kreuzkapelle is a district of the municipality Much in the North Rhine-Westphalian Rhein-Sieg district . It is named after the St. Johann Baptist Chapel  .

Geographical location

Kreuzkapelle is located in the Bergisches Land around 2.5 km (as the crow flies ) southwest of the core town of Much between its districts Bennrath in the east and Herchenrath in the west. It is located in the Bergisches Land nature park southwest of the confluence of the small Altenhegersiefen into the Wahnbach , which flows through the Herrenteich on the northern outskirts . State road  189 runs through the northern parts of the small village between Bennrath and Herchenrath , from which the L 224 branches off to the south in the direction of the Mucher district of Kranüchel .

Residents

In 1901 Kreuzkapelle was a homestead with 14 residents. Here lived the households of Rector Carl Funke, teacher Wilhelm Jacobs and innkeeper and small trader Johann Schönenbroicher.
