Löbach is a district of the municipality Much in the Rhein-Sieg district . The place was first mentioned in a document in 1487. The name of the Bröl- Niederbaches Löbach , in whose valley the hamlet Löbach is located, probably comes from the trees there, the bark of which was used for tanning . The Middle High German word lo means to tear off, peel or punch. Perhaps the brook also operated a tinder mill .
