history
Originally the place consisted of the three farms Saamen , Merten j. Fielenbach and Hoffmann .
In 1901 the homestead had 21 residents. The families Stellmacher Joh. Hoffmann, Ackerin widow Peter Hoffmann, Ackerer Joh. Josef Merten, Ackerer Baptist Röger and Ackerer Peter Josef Saamen lived here.
During the Second World War, Hof Hoffmann was completely destroyed by aerial bombs in 1943, and six people died, including a French prisoner of war. At the end of the Second World War , the anti-aircraft battery in Broich shot down an enemy fighter-bomber that crashed between Weißenportz and Eigen.
In 1960 the place consisted of seven houses with 28 inhabitants.
