Herfterath is a district of the municipality Much in the North Rhine-Westphalian Rhein-Sieg district .

Herfterath is located in the Bergisches Land on the border with the Oberbergischer Kreis . The place is in the Homburg Bröltal at the confluence of the Becher Suthbach . Neighboring towns are Nöchel , Schönthal and Nümbrecht to the east in the municipality of Nümbrecht . Herfterath can be reached via Landesstraße 350 .

history

Herfterath was first mentioned in a document in 1464.

In 1910 the hamlet had 51 inhabitants. At that time, the households Ackerer Joh.Alefelder, Ackerer Wilhelm Alefelder, mill owner Gerhard Behr, Ackerer Carl Büth, Ackerer Joh.Peter Büth, Ackerer Wilhelm Büth, Ackerer Joh.Peter Funken, Schuster Heinrich Höller, Ackerer Joh.Kröner, Ackerin widow Joh Peter Kröner, seamstress Eva Naria Röger, seamstress Maria Elisabeth Röger and Ackerer Arnold Schmidt.

The former mill is now a restaurant.
