history

Leverath was first mentioned in a document in 1079.

In 1901 the hamlet had 48 inhabitants. The households Joh. And Wilhelm Franken, Josef Wilhelm Frielingsdorf, Peter Josef Knipp, Friedrich Wilhelm and Joh. Heinrich Koppen, Christian, Gerhard and Joh. Müller, Catharina, Joh. And Josef Schmitz, Maria Elisabeth Söntgerath, Peter Steimel and widow were recorded Peter Strack.
