Stompen is a district of the municipality of Much in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Stompen lies on the slopes of the Bergisches Land . Neighboring towns are Walterscheid in the east and Hohn in the south. Stompen can be reached via Landesstraße 352 .

history

Stompen was first mentioned in a document in 1536. The name could come from a resident Gerrit Stump.

In 1901 there were 44 residents in the hamlet . Here lived the Ackerer William Fedder, Ackerer Peter Giesselbach, Ackerin widow Johann G. Heimann, Mason Justin Kistner, two Ackerer Joh.
