Location of Vogelsangen in Much

Vogelsangen is a part of the municipality of Much in the Rhein-Sieg district .

location

Vogelsangen is located on the slopes of the Bergisches Land in the headwaters of the Werschbach . Neighboring towns are Oberdreisbach-Höhe in the west, Wersch in the south and Berghausen in the west.

history

Vogelsangen was first mentioned in 1499 in the local church registers.

In 1528 Bertram von Dietrich married Anna von Elter zu Vogelsank for the second time .

In 1555 Engelbert von Scheidt called Weschpfennig was named as the owner of the Vogelsang. In 1550 he was bailiff of Blankenberg . In 1581 the estate is described as not being an aristocratic seat, but rather a Halfmanns Hoff until now . In 1583 Engelbert von Scheidt had to provide Siegburg with a horse and a pipe , the latter a rifleman. This speaks in favor of a lease. After his death in 1595, the services were transferred to his son Wilhelm. There is nothing left of the estate today.

In 1901 the hamlet of Vogelsang had 25 inhabitants. The households Wilhelm Engeländer, widow Anton Neufeind, Gerhard Neufeind, Katharina, Gertrud and Peter Josef Pick as well as Gerhard Willms were recorded. Except for the seamstress Gertrud Pick, everyone was in the village of Ackerer
