Eckhausen is a district of the municipality of Much in the Rhein-Sieg district .

location

Eckhausen lies on the slopes of the Bergisches Land . Neighboring towns are Gerlinghausen in the northeast, Bövingen in the south and Neverdorf in the north.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1795 because of the battle on the Hohnsberg .

In 1830 Eckhausen had 58 residents.

From 1865 to 1969 there was a school in the village.

From 1874 to 1967 Eckhausen was a chapel town.

In 1901 the village had 103 inhabitants, u. a. the families Kemmerling and Willms. In addition to farmers , there were also two teachers, a nail smith, a landlord and blacksmith and a plumber .

The farm community takes part in the carnival procession in Much, organizes a May festival , summer festival , senior and junior morning pints and St. Martin's singing .
