Oberbitzen is located on federal highway 56 and naturally belongs to the Wahn plateau within the Bergische plateau . It is structurally a part of Oberheister . Other neighboring towns are Huven in the northeast and Todtenmann in the southeast.

history

The place appears cartographically for the first time on the measurement table sheets of the Prussian New Admission from 1896 as Oberbietzen . In the 1909 community encyclopedia for the province of Rhineland, a house with six residents is given for Oberbietzen . At that time the place belonged to the mayor's office Much within the Siegkreis .

There is only one house from 1944. It came to the municipality of Much in 2001 when the border changed. Before that, the place belonged to Neunkirchen-Seelscheid and until 1969 to Seelscheid .
