Köttingen is a district of Ruppichteroth in the Rhein-Sieg district .

geography

The hamlet is located in the northeast of the village on the slopes of the Bergisches Land . The surrounding villages are Schmitzhöfgen in the north, Oeleroth in the east and Ruppichteroth in the west.

history

In 1644 there was a free aristocratic court in Köttingen owned by. W. Scheiffart from Merode . If necessary, he had to provide two horses and deliver a load of oats.

In 1666, according to the list of homages at that time, only Halfe lived in Köttingen .

In 1809 the place had 27 Catholic residents.

In 1910 the households of pensioner Karl Heckmann, shoemaker Peter Müller, farmer widow Johann Karl Müller and farmer widow Karl Seuthe were listed for Köttingen .
