Karl-Heinz Becker started his private racing career in touring car motorsport in 1964. He drove a few races in the European Touring Car Championship and German Automobile Circuit Championship for GT cars (DARM) with Glas 1204 TS and Mini Cooper S racing cars.

As early as 1965 and 1966, he drove his first long-distance races in the 1000 km race on the Nürburgring . When he switched to a Glas 1304 TS in 1966 , he achieved his first racing success. In the 500 km race at the Nürburgring in the DARM, he achieved his first class win in the T1.3 class.

In 1974 he started in the 2nd division of the German Racing Championship (DRM) with a BMW 2002 TI . In the following years up to 1981 he drove regularly with BMW racing cars - most recently with a BMW 320 Turbo race in Division 2. With the 1982 changes to the DRM regulations, which allowed Group C racing cars, Becker switched to one Lola T600 with which he participated in this racing series until the end of the DRM in 1985. His best placement in DRM in 1974 was 8th overall with a BMW 2002 TI.

In 1984 he joined the Interserie . Until 1989 he only drove his Lola T600 to individual races of a racing season. At the same time, he took part in races in the Sports Auto Supercup for Group C racing cars from 1986 to 1989 . At the Supercup in 1988 he achieved his best result with 8th place in the race in Hockenheim. From 1990, when the Group C Supercup racing series ended, he competed in entire racing seasons in the 1st division of the Interseries. In 1994 he switched from the Lola T600 to a former Formula 1 racing car Minardi M190 . With this he achieved his first overall victory in a race in Pergusa.

This year Becker celebrated his greatest racing success with the season win in the 1st division and 2nd place in the overall ranking of the Interseries.

In 1999 he started in class 3 of the Interseries and achieved another class win there. A year later he switched to a Minardi M195B racing car , with which he contested the racing season until the end of the Interseries.

From 2003 and then regularly from 2005 to 2012, Becker competed in the EuroBOSS and from 2010 in the subsequent BOSS GP Masters racing series. In 2010 he won the Masters class there with a Dallara SN01 .
