The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. In the run-up, there was a qualifying round for the individual tournament, in which four starting places were awarded from 16 participants. As in the previous year, the prize money for the event totaled 50,000 euros.
The winner of the individual competition was the third-placed Japanese Kei Nishikori. He won the final against the sixth-placed American Robert Kendrick in straight sets. It was Nishikori's fifth single title at Challenger level and his fourth title of the season. Last year's winner Taylor Dent did not defend his title this year.
In the run-up to the tournament there was a cancellation due to illness. Marinko Matosevic , placed fifth , was unable to participate in singles or doubles due to an infection. In the singles, the South African Fritz Wolmarans moved into the main field, in the doubles the pairing from Raven Klaasen , who also comes from South Africa, and the American John Paul Fruttero .
