Laryssa Bereschna

Laryssa Bereschna ( Ukrainian Лариса Бережна , English transcription Larysa Berezhna , also Russian Лариса Бережная - Larissa Bereschnaja - Larisa Berezhnaya ; born February 28, 1961 in Kiev ) is a former Ukrainian long jumper .

Starting for the Soviet Union , she won bronze at the 1989 World Indoor Athletics Championships in Budapest and gold at the 1991 World Indoor Championships in Seville. At the European Athletics Championships in 1990 in Split, she was fourth, at the 1991 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, she won bronze.

In 1992 she started for the United Team of the CIS and won gold at the European Indoor Championships in Genoa . At the Olympic Games in Barcelona , she was injured in qualifying.

Starting for the Ukraine, she finished fifth at the 1993 World Indoor Championships in Toronto and won silver at the Stuttgart World Championships .

In 1989 she became Soviet indoor and outdoor champion, and in 1993 Ukrainian champion.
