The women's 800-meter run at the 1995 World Athletics Championships was held from August 10th to 13th, 1995 in Gothenburg's Ullevi Stadium .
World champion was the Cuban Olympic third from 1992 and vice world champion from 1991 Ana Fidelia Quirot , who was the double winner of the Pan American Games in 1987 and 1991 in the 400 and 800 meters . Second place went to Letitia Vriesde from Surinam , who set a new South American record in the final with 1: 56.68 min. Bronze went to the British Vice European Champion over 1500 meters from 1994, Kelly Holmes , who had already won silver over 1500 meters four days earlier .
