The following list provides an overview of personalities who died in the wake of the AIDS outbreak in the mid-1980s. The list includes personalities who are considered significant enough in terms of the Wikipedia relevance criteria to dedicate their own personal articles in Wikipedia to them.

People who died indirectly due to AIDS are also included. These are, for example, people who did not die of AIDS themselves, but of another disease that they would probably have survived without the additional weakening of AIDS.
