Młynowo [ mwɨˈnɔvɔ ] ( German Ober Mühlenthal ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Mrągowo ( rural community Sensburg ) in the Powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ). Młynowo is two kilometers northeast of the district town of Mrągowo ( German Sensburg ).

Until 1945, Ober Mühlenthal was incorporated into the municipality of Sensburg ( Polish Mrągowo ) and thus belonged to the Sensburg district in the Gumbinnen district (from 1905: Allenstein district ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1867 there were 66 registered residents in Ober Mühlenthal, 104 in 1885 and only 101 in 1905.
As a result of the war, Ober Mühlenthal came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and received the Polish form of the name “Młynowo”. Today the village is a seat Schulz Office ( Polish Sołectwo ) and as such, a town in the composite of Gmina Mrągowo (Town Sensburg ) in mrągowo county until 1998, the Olsztyn Province (Olsztyn) , since the Warmia and Mazury belong.

Until 1945, Ober Mühlenthal was oriented towards Sensburg on both the Protestant and Catholic sides. The city belonged to the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union or to the diocese of Warmia at that time . However, it now belongs to the Archdiocese of Warmia in the Polish Catholic Church and to the Masurian Diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Młynowo is very conveniently located on the Polish national road 59 (former German Reichsstraße 140 ), which connects the regions of Giżycko (Lötzen) , Mrągowo and Szczytno (Ortelsburg) . From 1898 to 1966, Ober Mühlenthal ( Młynowo Mrągowski ) was a train station on the Rastenburg – Sensburg ( Polish: Kętrzyn – Sławkowo – Mrągowo ) railway , which was once operated by the Rastenburger Kleinbahnen . Rail traffic was discontinued.
