Maximilian "Max" von Pufendorf (* 1976 in Hilden ) is a German theater and film actor .

Life

Max von Pufendorf is a descendant of Samuel von Pufendorf and the son of Lutz von Pufendorf , a former State Secretary for Culture in Berlin. He completed his acting studies at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . From 1999 to 2001 he had his first engagement at the Residenztheater in Munich, where he worked with Hans Neuenfels and Thirza Bruncken , among others .

At the Maxim-Gorki-Theater Berlin he played in Xavier Durringer's Schnitt ins Fleisch (director: Stefan Otteni ) and at the Hans Otto Theater , Potsdam in Die Räuber , directed by Piet Drescher. At the Deutsches Theater Berlin he was in Shakespeare -Stück Titus Andronicus , directed by Hans Neuenfels with Elisabeth Trissenaar , Hans-Michael Rehberg and Ingo Hülsmann to see. Von Pufendorf worked for the production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, directed by Jürgen Gosch .

Max von Pufendorf made his cinema debut in 1999 in Buddy Giovinazzo's film neo-noir thriller The Unscarred (Everyone dies) alongside Heino Ferch . Both played the role of Johann at different ages. In 2000, along with Dagmar Manzel , Robert Stadlober and Tom Schilling, he was part of the staff of the coming-of-age film drama Crazy , which tells of the difficult situation of Benjamin, a disabled adolescent who is growing up separated from his parents in a boarding school. In 2003 he played the role of Zooey in the short film Franny and Zooey , directed by Robin von Hardenberg, based on the novel of the same name by JD Salinger .

Max von Pufendorf played his first television roles in episodes of the series Tatort (2003, 2004), Polizeiruf 110 (2005) and Ein Fall für Zwei (2006). In the much acclaimed new version of The Vera Brühne case , he was seen in 2001 alongside Corinna Harfouch , Hans-Werner Meyer , Ulrich Noethen , Hanns Zischler and Michael Degen in the role of tabloid reporter Karsten Meyer. In 2006 he took on the role of Captain Carsten Benedikt in the war film Murderous Peace alongside Max Riemelt . The film tells the story of the young Bundeswehr soldiers Tom and Charly, who are stationed with their KFOR peacekeeping force in Kosovo .

In 2006 Max von Pufendorf embodied the figure of the depressed Julian in Jo Baier's The Last Piece of Heaven . In 2008 he was in the role of René Maria von Trotha alongside Armin Mueller-Stahl , Justus von Dohnányi , Sunnyi Melles , Iris Berben and August Diehl in the cast of the new Buddenbrook film directed by Heinrich Breloer . In 2012 he took on the leading role alongside Stefanie Stappenbeck in the Sat.1 doctor series Auf Herz und 1974 . He is married and lives with his family in Berlin.
