Mazda R100

The Mazda R100 (name in Japan: Mazda Familia Presto Rotary ) was a small 2 + 2-seater coupé built from 1968 to 1973 by the Japanese manufacturer Mazda .

The R100 is the otherwise technically unchanged coupé version of the Mazda 1000/1300 ( called Familia in Japan ) in, powered by the Mazda Wankel engine type 0820 from the Mazda 110 S Cosmo of the second series, but here with a single carburetor to only 74 kW (100 hp) came. Apart from the engine, the technology of the car with a rigid rear axle, rear drum brakes etc. was very conventional.

The R100 was offered in Japan, the USA and some European markets (namely in France), but not in Germany.
