Mazda 1000/1300 Estate (1973)

In 1967, the predecessor 1000 presented in the same year was offered as the 1000 Deluxe with a larger body. The four-cylinder OHV -Reihenmotor with 987 cc capacity and a power of 58 hp (43 kW) at 6000 min -1 was applied. While the front wheels were individually suspended on MacPherson struts and wishbones, a rigid axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs and telescopic shock absorbers was installed at the rear. The cars were available as 2- or 4-door sedans or 5-door station wagons and reached a top speed of 135 km / h.

In 1968 the 1200 was added to the 1000. Its engine had a displacement of 1169 cm³ and delivered between 58 and 68 bhp (43–50 kW), depending on the respective national regulations. The 1200 was also available as a 2-door coupé and reached a top speed of 150 km / h.

In 1973 the model series was revised and now the Mazda Familia Presto or Mazda 1000 and 1300. While the sedan and the coupe were redesigned, the body design of the pickup and the station wagon remained unchanged. It was not until March 1974 that the model series first came to Germany as the Mazda 1300 as a 2-door sedan and from June 1974 as a 4-door sedan. The 1.3 l R4.Motor made 66 hp (44 kW) at 6000 min -1 . From September 1974 the 1000 model was also available in both body variants. The 1.0 L-R4-engine delivered 45 horsepower (33 kW) at 5800 min -1 .

In October 1975, the performance of the 1.3 liter engine of 60 horsepower (44 kW) at 5500 min -1 withdrawn. The two-door models were given a passenger seat that slides forward when the backrest is folded forward to make it easier for the rear passengers to get in. In February 1977 production of the series ended and it was replaced by the Mazda Familia AP, in export Mazda 323 .
