The Mazda CX-30 is a compact SUV from the Japanese car manufacturer Mazda . The vehicle is based on the fourth generation of the Mazda3 and is positioned between the Mazda CX-3 and Mazda CX-5 . Since Mazda already offers the SUV coupé CX-4 exclusively on the Chinese market , the SUV is not named that way. The external dimensions of the CX-30 are almost identical to those of the MX-30 electric car presented in October 2019 , which, according to Mazda, is a completely new development.

history

The SUV was presented at the 89th Geneva Motor Show in March 2019, and the first vehicles were delivered at the end of September 2019. In 2019, the CX-30 received the Golden Steering Wheel award in Germany in the Small SUV category .

technology

In contrast to many other models in this segment, the CX-30 does not have a touch display . Instead, a rotary push button is used. The vehicle is on the new Skyactiv platform and has a torsion beam rear axle .

Technical specifications

The CX-30 is powered by the same engine variants as in the Mazda3. This also includes the first gasoline engine built in series to have homogeneous compression ignition .
