Sao Penza

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sao Penza was a compact class passenger car manufactured in Great Britain in 1991 by Automotive Holdings , a subsidiary of Mazda Cars Ltd. , the official importer. It was a renamed version of the Mazda 323 , imported from South Africa , where the 1985 model was still being assembled by SAMCOR (now Ford South Africa) during this period . There were 5-door station wagons and 4-door notchback sedans with rather simple equipment.

The cars were around GBP 2,000 cheaper than the corresponding current Mazda 323 models. But the unfashionable appearance, the unknown brand and unfair, bad publicity ensured that the car was withdrawn from the British market after a few years.
