The Mazda CX-8 is a sport utility vehicle from the Japanese car manufacturer Mazda . In the global market, it is positioned between CX-5 and CX-9 . In some markets, such as the Japanese home market, it is the top model, as the CX-9 is not offered there. The SUV is also sold in Australia , China and Malaysia , among others .
history
The SUV, which is available as a six- or seven-seater, was presented in September 2019. It had its public premiere the following month at the Tokyo Motor Show . The market launch was in December 2017. The vehicle is not offered outside of Asia or Australia.
The CX-8 is manufactured in Hiroshima , Japan , Kulim , Malaysia and Nanjing, China .
Technical specifications
Basically, a 2.5-liter SkyActiv-G gasoline engine and a 2.2-liter SkyActiv-G diesel engine are available for the CX-8 . The gasoline engine is offered in two output variants with 141 kW (192 PS) or 169 kW (230 PS), the diesel engine has 140 kW (190 PS). Depending on the market, only one engine may be available.
