history

The large SUV is produced at the Ujina plant, near Mazda headquarters in Hiroshima . The market launch in the USA took place in early 2007.

Originally, the CX-9 should only be offered in the USA, but not on the European market. Later it was also offered in Russia , from where around 1000 cars came to Western Europe during the financial crisis (recognizable by the 6-seater layout). 2008 was named Car of the Year (North America) ( Trucks ).

Due to the rapid sales of the first tranche, a small amount of the model revised in summer 2009 was also marketed in Germany (recognizable by the 7-seater layout). The cars delivered in Germany have a valid warranty from Mazda Germany / Europe, which distinguishes these vehicles from the imported CX-9.

In September 2009 the CX-9 was given a facelift for the first time. Another facelift took place in December 2012.
