The Mazda Premacy is a compact van by the Japanese car manufacturer Mazda , which was produced from 1999 to 2005. Internally known as the CP , the car was built in Japan and exported to Asia and Europe . In some Asian countries (including Japan) the car was also offered as a Ford Ixion , Ford MAV or Nissan Lafesta Highway Star . FAW Haima Automobile Company manufactured the Premacy under license as Haima Freema for the Chinese market .

history

The Mazda Premacy was a five-seater compact van , with removable seats and front-wheel drive . It used the Mazda CP platform and was later also available as an Active 7 version. This had seven seats and could now keep up with the successful Opel Zafira .

In November 2001 the Premacy received a facelift , the lights and headlights, the aprons and bumpers as well as the interior were revised.

By the end of production in May 2005, 285,258 copies had been sold worldwide. In China, the model was built until 2009. From June 2005 the successor was marketed under the name Mazda5 , but in Japan it was still called Premacy.

Models for Japan

As a Premacy, the vehicle is only offered in Japan, as the successor will be sold in Europe under the name Mazda5 .

From the CR series produced between mid-2005 and summer 2010, a model with a 1.3-liter rotary engine was optimized for the combustion of hydrogen and sold as Mazda Premacy Hydrogen RE Hybrid . In addition to the hybrid engine, petrol engines with 1.8 (81 kW) and 2.0 liters (105 kW) as well as a two-liter diesel engine in two output levels (85-107 kW) were also available.

A model change (type CW) took place in autumn 2010. The engine range is the same as that offered in Europe as Mazda5, with the exception that a 2.5 liter gasoline engine is still available in Japan.
