The Ford series was a series of mid-size passenger cars manufactured by Ford in the USA in model year 1949 . It was the successor to the Ford Deluxe , represented the basic model and had no other model designation apart from the name "Ford". Like its more luxurious sister models in the Custom series , the cars were available with an in-line six-cylinder engine with 3703 cc, which delivered 95 bhp (70 kW). Alternatively, there was a V8 engine, which from 3917 cm³ displacement an output of 100 bhp (74 kW) at 3600 / min. pulled.

The vehicles were available as a 2-door coupe with 3 or 6 seats or a sedan with 2 or 4 doors. The models showed the modern pontoon shape with integrated fenders.

204,499 copies of the Ford series were built. In the 1950 model year, the Deluxe replaced the Ford series again.
