The Del Rey was a mid-range model produced by the Brazilian branch of Ford Motor Company from 1981 to 1991 .
The Del Rey was based on the Ford Corcel . Both models were produced in parallel for a few years, with the Del Rey being the more sophisticated equipment variant. In 1991 the Del Rey was replaced by the Ford Versailles .
The Del Rey was available as a two- and four-door notchback sedan and as a three-door station wagon. A pick-up variant called Ford Pampa derived from him remained on offer until 1997.
1981 to 1984 there were sedans and station wagons in the versions Del Rey (base) and Del Rey Ouro. From 1985 the model received a facelift and technical changes, namely the new CHT engine. The model range now included the versions L, GL, GLX and Ghia as a sedan and L, GLX and Ghia station wagon (which was now called Del Rey Scala). In 1990 Ford's own 1.6-liter CHT engine gave way to the 1.8-liter four-cylinder supplied by Volkswagen do Brasil , and the transmission and chassis were improved at the same time.
