The Ford Thames 307E (known as the left-hand drive 308E) is a small delivery van based on the Ford Anglia 105E that Ford of Britain produced from summer 1961 to autumn 1967. From 1965 the car was marketed as the Anglia Van.

Model history

The Thames 307E replaced the Ford Thames 300E and was offered in Europe (except Germany). It had a payload of 250 or 350 kg and a maximum loading volume of 2.1 m³. The basic version with 250 kg (5  cwt ) payload had a grill made of painted horizontal slats similar to the basic Anglia, while the 350 kg version (7 cwt) had a grill with bright, close-meshed metal grille in full width similar to the Anglia Deluxe . The engine was a specially developed commercial version of the Kent engine from the Anglia 105E with a compression ratio of 7.5: 1 or 8.9: 1. The new 4-speed gearbox from the Anglia was used for shifting. A more powerful version with a 1.2 liter four-cylinder engine was available as the Thames 309E from 1962.

1961 Coachbuilder developed Kenex Coach Work from Dover a pick-up version of the Ford Thames. Before this variant could go into series production, Kenex was taken over by the southern English car dealer Martin Walter , who began series production of the pick-up in 1964 with a delay of almost three years.

In 1968 the Ford Escort  I delivery van replaced the Anglia Van.
