Ford GT70

The Ford GT70 was a racing car from Ford of Britain and was produced for rally racing in 1970 and 1971. A total of six copies were made. Many parts from the Ford Zodiac were used . Various engines were installed as a mid- engine:

• 1600 GT: Kent inline four-cylinder , 1599 cc, 86 hp;
• 1600 RS: four-valve BDA in- line four- cylinder, 1601 cm³, 120 hp;
• 2600: V6 Cologne , 2520 cm³, 125 hp;
• 3000: V6 Essex , 2994 cc, 128 hp from the Ford Capri .

The power was transmitted by means of a 4-speed (ZF 4DS10) or 5-speed manual transmission (ZF 5DS25) and rear-wheel drive with a limited slip differential. The GT70 goes back to an idea by Ford Motorsport Director Stuart Turner , Jochen Neerpasch and works rally driver Roger Clark .
