The forward control distribution truck Ford LCF was offered as the successor to Ford Cargo in North America from 2004 . The LCF was the result of a joint venture between Ford and Navistar who marketed their model as the Navistar CF. Both vehicles were produced in a Navistar plant in Mexico . The driver's cab was from the 4th generation Mazda Titan .
Both vehicles were powered by a 4.5 liter V6 common rail diesel engine from Navistar with 147 kW (200 PS) and 600 Nm torque, with a 5-speed automatic transmission on the Ford LCF. A 7.8 liter Cummins common rail diesel engine, coupled with a 10-speed split gearbox , ranked above it . Five different wheelbases from 2.9 to 4.7 meters and three weight classes: 7300, 8200 and 8500 kilograms were offered.
With the sale of the heavy Ford truck division to Freightliner , production of the Ford LCF ended in 2009 without a successor.
