The Peugeot DMA was a pickup truck that Peugeot produced between 1941 and 1948. It was the first commercial vehicle from Peugeot with a front-handlebar design in which the driver sat directly at the front. With this design, inspired by the Citroën TUB published in 1939, the DMA was a pioneer in the vehicle class in maximizing the loading area, length and the driver's view of the road. However, the driver had to put up with the loud engine in the driver's cab, even though the DMA had rear-wheel drive and thus could not offer the low level loading area of the Citroën TUB with front-wheel drive.

During the first years of the DMA, France was occupied by the German armed forces. Many of the 11,045 DMAs produced were used by the German Wehrmacht. In the immediate post-war period, when the financial resources for new models remained limited, the trucks were mostly manufactured for municipal clients and fire departments .

The DMA was powered by the four-cylinder 2142 cm³ gasoline engine with overhead valves from the Peugeot 402 , which could also be operated as a wood gas engine . The power in gasoline mode was 50 hp (37 kW) at a top speed of 70 km / h, and in gas mode 34 hp. The DMA was also built with rear twin tires, which enabled a maximum payload of 2000 kg, which was impressive for the time.

From September 1946 there was also a DMAH version with hydraulic brakes. In 1948, Peugeot presented a slightly revised version as the Q3A, which was only built until 1950. After that, the Peugeot D3 replaced the series, which had been powered by a Peugeot engine and built by Chenard & Walcker . Chenard & Walcker ran into financial difficulties and sold its vehicle production to Peugeot.
