The Ford Standard , or Ford Special , was an upper middle class passenger car manufactured by Ford in the USA in the model years 1941 and 1942 . It was one of the successors to the Ford V8 and represented the most cost-effective equipment variant. Like its sister models Deluxe and Super Deluxe , it was equipped with an in-line six-cylinder engine with 3700 cm³ displacement, producing 90 bhp (66 kW) at 3300 rpm. A V8 engine was not available.

The vehicles were available as a 2-door coupe, 2-door sedan (“Tudor”) or 4-door sedan (“Fordor”).

72,832 copies were made in two years. In February 1942, like that of all civilian cars in the USA, production had to be stopped due to the war and did not come back to life after the Second World War.
