The Ford Transit / Tourneo Courier is a van and high roof station wagon from the car manufacturer Ford .
Contrary to the name, the Transit Courier is not based on the Ford Transit and the Ford Transit Custom derived from it , but on the Ford Fiesta and the Ford B-MAX . The Transit Courier is produced in the Kocaeli plant (Turkey) by Ford Otosan , a joint venture between Ford and the Koç family, and has been available on the European market since 2014.
General
The Transit Courier has the front design of the Ford Fiesta, while the interior including the dashboard is derived from the Ford B-MAX. As with many contemporary Ford vehicles, the 1.0 liter EcoBoost Otto direct injection engine with 74 kW (100 hp) is also used in this model range . In addition to the Ford Duratorq common rail injection diesel engines with 1.5 liters and 55 kW (75 PS) and 1.6 liters with 70 kW (95 PS), also known from Fiesta and B-MAX . An automatic start-stop system for lower consumption can be optionally ordered ex works for all engines .
A connection option in the dashboard makes it possible to connect electronic devices such as cell phones , MP3 players or portable navigation systems . The Sync entertainment and communication system with an integrated emergency assistant is available as an option for the Transit Courier, which enables connected devices to be controlled by voice control.
In the version as a Transit Courier panel van , a standard partition and a loading volume of 2.3 m³ with a maximum payload of 660 kilograms are standard equipment. Two side sliding doors, six lashing eyes and mounting points in the body for the installation of shelving or built-in systems offer many possible variations. In addition to the option of transporting a euro pallet, the Transit Courier has a loading length of 1.62 meters, which can be extended to 2.59 meters, in combination with an optionally available mesh partition between the passenger compartment and the cargo area and the standard collapsible passenger seat . A particularly bright load compartment lighting in LED technology is also optionally available.
In the passenger car version, the Transit Courier has five seats and no partition behind the front seats. It is called the Transit Courier Kombi. The rear seats in the sliding doors have windows. No discs at the rear at the side.
With the Tourneo Courier high-roof station wagon, the number of people that can be carried increases from two to five thanks to additional seats in the rear. The seats can be folded down in a 60:40 split with a single movement. Isofix brackets as well as a connection point with integrated USB and AUX connection are installed as standard on the rear outer seats . With a luggage rack, which can be adjusted in height several times, the luggage compartment can be subdivided so that light and heavy loads can be stowed separately from each other.
