The Mazda BT-50 is a pickup from the Japanese manufacturer Mazda . The vehicle has replaced the Mazda B-series since 2006 . The car shares the technical basis with the international version of the Ford Ranger . The car is built in Thailand for the local and European markets and in Colombia for the South American market.

The first Mazda BT-50 was presented to the public for the first time on March 22, 2006 at the Bangkok International Motor Show. The more modern design is particularly striking compared to the B series. The BT-50 weighs about two tons and a 2.5 liter MZR-CD common-rail - diesel engine driven. Like its predecessor, the BT-50 is available in three body versions:
- Single cabin with 2 seats (not available with all-wheel drive and not for Germany)
- Long cab, four-door (rear doors open in opposite directions, two rear emergency seats)
- Double cab, four-door (rear bench suitable for long journeys)

Facelift
In autumn 2008 the BT-50 was subjected to a model revision, among other things recognizable by a newly designed radiator grille. The previous body and equipment variants and the 2.5-liter diesel engine used remained.

At the end of 2011, the second generation of the BT-50, presented the previous year, appeared. It was - unlike the technically largely identical Ford Ranger - not offered in Europe. The front design of the new BT-50 differs greatly from the usual box shape of pickups and is based on the brand's car models.

The third generation of the series was initially only presented as a double cabin on June 17, 2020. It is now based on the Isuzu D-Max and is produced together with it in Thailand.
