The Mazda Ryuga is a concept vehicle introduced by Mazda and its then parent company Ford in 2007 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit . This car is along with the Nagare , who is doing an experimental design study at the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show to show the further development of the design of future Mazda passenger cars. The term Ryuga (pronounced: "Rie-juh-ga") is Japanese and means "gracious river" in German.

Exterior fittings

The large 21 ”wheels are at the four corners of a stable, balanced position . The body has two gullwing doors and is significantly shorter and lower than the 4-seater sports car RX-8 .

Interior

The Ryuga offers space for 4 passengers in a typical 2 + 2 arrangement with four individual seats and a lounge-like room for the rear seat passengers. The “sliding” center console with extended shells includes a multifunctional touchscreen for controls and displays. A number of CCD cameras show the space behind the vehicle and the blind spot of the rearview mirror. The steering wheel is open at the top and connected to an electric steering system (“Steer by wire”).
