Career
In the Czech Republic, Rozsival played for HC Dukla Jihlava before he was selected in the fourth round of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 105th place. He then moved to the Swift Current Broncos in the Western Hockey League .
After two years in the WHL, the Penguins brought him to the American Hockey League in 1998 with their farm team, the Syracuse Crunch . The 1999/2000 season he then played continuously with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL. The following year he played half the season on the farm team at the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins in the AHL. The next two years he was able to maintain his regular place in the NHL until he was canceled in September 2003 due to a knee injury.
Instead of a return to the NHL, the league went on strike and so he returned to his home country for the 2004/05 season . There he played for HC Oceláři Třinec and HC Moeller Pardubice .
For the 2005/06 season he was able to play again in the NHL. His new team were the New York Rangers . There he had a successful debut. Together with Wade Redden, he had the best value in the plus / minus rating.
In January 2011 Rozsíval was given to the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for Wojtek Wolski and by 2012 he had over 100 games for the Coyotes. On September 11, 2012, he signed a one-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks . After winning the Stanley Cup with the team in 2013 , the Czech received a new two-year contract in Chicago. In 2015 he won the Stanley Cup again. After he had not played a game of the 2017/18 season due to an injury, his expiring contract in Chicago was not extended in the summer of 2018.
