The 1990–91 NBA season was the National Basketball Association's 45th season . The regular season began on November 2, 1990 and ended on April 19, 1991. This was followed by the NBA playoffs on April 21, 1991, which ended in mid-June with the NBA finals . The championship won the Chicago Bulls with a 4-1 in the series against the Los Angeles Lakers .

The 1991 All-Star Game took place in Charlotte . The pick of the East won the game 116-114. The game's MVP became Charles Barkley of the Philadelphia 76ers .
