NGC 5394/95 = Arp 84 is an interacting galaxy pair in the constellation Canes Venatici . The galaxy pair is about 160 million light years away from the Milky Way.

Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class spiral galaxies with a large companion of high surface brightness on one arm (Arp catalog) .

The two galaxies were discovered by William Herschel on May 16, 1787 and were later named NGC 5394 and NGC 5395 in the New General Catalog .
