Niko Eeckhout (born December 16, 1970 in Izegem ) is a former Belgian cyclist and current sports director .

Eeckhout became a professional at Palmans-Collstrop in 1993 . He was considered a strong sprinting classic specialist and was particularly successful in one-day races such as Dwars door Vlaanderen , Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen and Memorial Rik Van Steenbergen in Belgium and the Netherlands .

At the end of the 2013 season, at the age of 42, after 21 professional seasons, he ended his career as a professional cyclist and moved to the management of his last team, An Post-ChainReaction .
