Four Armenian boxers were allowed to take part in the Olympic Games. Jawachjan, Hambardsumjan and Danieljan qualified through the amateur boxing world championships, Hakobjan at the first European qualifying tournament.

The results of Hripsime Khurschudjan were deleted in 2016, as she was identified as a doping sinner in follow-up tests . In the course of the same investigation in 2016, Tigran Geworg Martirosjan also lost his bronze medal. He too had started doped.
