mode

In the main round, each of the eleven teams played a total of 22 games. The best six teams in the main round played the order for the first six places in the playoffs in a quadruple round (20 games for each team). The teams in positions seven to eleven also competed four times against each other and played two other playoff participants and the participants in the playouts. The main round results were adopted in each case.

In the playoffs , the individual rounds were in the " Best of Seven " mode . The two losers in the semi-finals played third place in the “Best of Three” mode. Each team received three points for a win after regular time, two points for a win after overtime or shootout , one point for a defeat after overtime or shootout and zero points for a defeat after regular time.

The teams in ninth and tenth place played out the relegated team in a playout round, also using the “Best of Seven” mode. The team of the youth academy of the Polish association Szkoła Mistrzostwa Sportowego did not have to take part in this elimination round - although the last one.

particularities

In addition to the athletic relegated Naprzód Janów , the KH Sanok and Zagłębie Sosnowiec no longer took part in the league. Since these departures with Gdańsk and the GKS Katowice , which returned after a year break, faced only two newcomers, the number of participants decreased to eleven. The team from Gdansk, who played in the Ekstraliga again after a five-year break, were the only club besides Nesta Toruń that did not come from the Polish south.
