The Quicken Loans 400 is a race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup and the first of two at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn , Michigan . It goes over a distance of 400 miles (643,737 km).

history

The race was first driven in 1969, it was called Motor State 500. 1970-1975 it was called Motor State 400, with the exception of Motor State 360, which was shortened due to the oil crisis in 1974. After changing names and sponsors under which the Miller Brewing Company was right stayed true (1984-1998) the race was called Batman Begins 400 in 2005. On February 19, 2006, 3M announced that they had concluded a three-year contract for the naming rights of the race. After the race was called 3M Performance 400 presented by Post-It Picture Paper in 2006, 3M transferred the sponsorship to the other race in Michigan, the 3M Performance 400, at the beginning of the 2007 season, and this race was called Citizens Bank 400 in 2007 . According to LifeLock 400 (2008/2009) and Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 (2010/2011) has been called Quicken Loans 400 since 2012.
