The 2007/08 snooker season consisted of a series of snooker tournaments that are part of the Main Tour . In addition to titles and prizes, there were also points for the snooker world rankings in seven tournaments . There were also invitation and non-ranking tournaments in which no points were awarded.
The number of tournaments had increased by one compared to the previous season. In order to do justice to the increasing importance of the snooker sport in China, the Shanghai Masters was a second tournament in the Asian country. The Malta Cup was initially removed from the tournament calendar after three years, but was resumed this season, but only with the status of an invitation tournament.
The season began on August 6, 2007 with the Shanghai Masters and ended on May 5, 2008 with the World Championship finals .
