The most important building in Steinach in terms of art history is the parish church of the Holy Cross (patronage September 14th). It was built in 1750/51 on behalf of the Prince of Fürstenberg by the then Fürstenberg master builder Franz Joseph Salzmann . Parts of the foundations of the medieval church, which were largely removed during the new construction, are located in the area of today's church tower. Above it, in the area of the sacristy, the old choir with fragments of old frescoes has been preserved. The furnishings in the Rococo style were largely carried out until 1778, but were repeatedly subject to restrictions due to savings on the part of the princely hand. In 1889 the nave was extended.
