Nuh ( Arabic نوح, DMG Nūḥ  , Noach ') is the 71st sura of the Koran , it contains 28 verses . The sura belongs to the parts of the Qur'an that were revealed in the second Meccan period (615–620). Their title refers to the first verse.

The sura consists almost entirely of an address by Noah , who is venerated as a prophet in Islam . He tells God how he tried unsuccessfully to exhort his people with pleadings and threats. They refuse to forsake their gods, named in verse 23: Wadd , Suwa ', Yaguth, Ya'uq, and Nasr. According to verse 25, because of their sins, they are punished with drowning in this world and with hellfire in the hereafter.
