The first season of the talent show The Voice Senior aired from December 23, 2018 to January 4, 2019. Thore Schölermann and Lena Gercke , who have been moderating The Voice of Germany together since 2015, took over the moderation. The jury included the singer Mark Forster , the duo Alec Völkel and Sascha Vollmer from the band The BossHoss , the singer and actress Yvonne Catterfeld and the singer Sasha .
The winner of the first season was Dan Lucas .
First phase: the blind auditions
The participants for the “blind auditions” of the first season were selected in so-called “scoutings”, which took place in February and March 2018. These auditions were not broadcast on television. The first two episodes of the "Blind Auditions" were recorded on July 16, 2018 in the Adlershof studio in Berlin and broadcast in two television programs on December 23 and December 28, 2018 on Sat.1 .
Although none of the jurors turned around during Hildegard Gutt's appearance, the coach duo BossHoss decided, contrary to the usual rules , to give her a wildcard so that she could join the team. The following candidates received all four jury votes: Walter Golczyk, Gabriele Treftz, Fritz Bliesener, Dan Lucas , Wolfgang Schorer, Geff Harrison and Michael Dixon. Of these 7, four opted for Sasha, two for Yvonne and one for BossHoss.
