activities

The association deals with the literary genres of poetry , short stories, novels , satire , drama , theater , essays , history, science, books for children and young people. The group's activities concentrate on the maintenance of literature, especially of works that have been created and are being created in southern Germany. To do this, it uses the following measures, among others:

  • Reading events, framed by music, in theaters, on the radio and on television, in libraries and cultural centers - as an individual reading or as a group reading with two to four clerks. The tower scribes hold readings, especially during Advent and Carnival .
  • Book publications in various publishers - as individual publications, but also in collective works.
  • Annual award of the Bavarian Poet Thaler to personalities and institutions who have made outstanding contributions to Bavarian culture. Previous winners since 1961 include personalities from Joseph Maria Lutz to Regensburger Domspatzen and Biermösl Blosn .
